September meeting is here!

Our September meeting is this Wednesday 9/7 at the clubhouse at 6:30.  Everyone knows the deal by now, ring the bell.

Ready for the FOTR Annual Picnic?

Click on the link above for details (including the picnic flyer and maps)

Next Meeting July 6th

Our July meeting is this Wednesday 7/6 at 6:30 at the clubhouse.  Tawney is signed up for food and Kent is doing the presentation.  I think everybody is used to it by now, but ring the doorbell at the south doors for admission.

See you on Wednesday!

Iron Brewer Saturday June 4th

Iron Brewer is this Saturday, June 4 starting at 9am at The Brew Hut (15120 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO 80014).  For anyone who is not familiar with this event, when you arrive at the Brew Hut you will be given a list of mystery ingredients to brew a beer with right there on premises.  The beers are served at the picnic, and informally judged by all at the picnic.  We have again this year asked the Brew Hut to keep the number of required specialty ingredients to a manageable level, so that more drinkable beers are made for the picnic.
Hope to see you there!

June 1st Meeting: Off-flavors

Our June meeting is this Wednesday June 1, at 6:30 at the clubhouse. We will be having an off-flavors presentation, complete with an off-flavors tasting.

Remember that we are using the doors on the South side of the building. The doors have to remain closed, please ring the bell when you arrive and someone will come down to let you in.

Cinco yet?

Hi Foamers — Wednesday, May 4th at the club house, is almost here …. time again for the prestigious Cinco de Mitcho Brew Competitions! To make things run smoothly, here are some requests to follow:

1. Please email me asap (jmitchell795@comcast.net) if you are entering a beer in either of the two categories (Spirit of Mexico styles or Mexican-themed Chili/Pepper Beer styles).

— If you are entering a “pepper” beer: please let me know your “creative name”, the base beer, type of pepper(s), and whether it is mild, medium or hot!!

— If you are entering a “Spirit of Mexico” beer: let me know your “creative name”, the beer style (light lager, amber/Vienna, or dark) and any special additives

2. Plan to bring 1-2 bombers or 3 12-oz. bottles of each entry so we have enough beer for all to sample

3. Label each bottle (do not include your personal name):

— “chili/pepper” beer: include your “creative name”, the base beer, type of pepper(s), and whether it is mild, medium or hot!!

— “Spirit of Mexico” beer: include “creative name”, the beer style (light lager, amber/Vienna, or dark) and any special additives

4. The Spirit of Mexico judging will be an informal but serious judging procedure, with a first place and second place ribbon award given
5. The Chili/Pepper beer judging will be more informal, but the winning entry will receive the prestigious Traveling Burrito Award!

6. An award will also be given for the best name of a brew, so be creative!

See you Wednesday May 4th!!

Senor Mitcho
