Kegs & Curds at Wynkoop Brewing

Description: Fromage to Yours & Wynkoop Brewing Company presents Kegs & Curds: A Toast to Beer & Cheese. It's a totally cheesey beer event that pairs exceptional small-batch beer with delicious small-batch cheese.

The event features free-flowing samples of 25 Colorado, US and Belgian beers thoughtfully paired (by the brewers) with 20 gourmet US cheeses courtesy of Centennial, Colorado's Fromage to Yours cheese shop.

The beer lineup includes beers from Wynkoop Brewing Company, Stone Brewing, Avery Brewing, Lost Abbey, Left Hand, Breckenridge Brewery, St Feuillien, Verhage, Upslope, Great Divide, Odell and many others.

The cheese list features aged and rubbed cheddars, sheep and goat's milk cheeses, brie, camemberts, blue cheeses, smoked cheese and more from Beecher's (Seattle, WA) and Beehive (Uinta, UT) and others.

Many of these cheeses will be available for take-home purchase, as will locally made chocolates and other gourmet treats.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at Wynkoop Brewing Company at the billiards hall booth on the second floor.

Peak-to-Peak ProAm Competition

Description: The competition judging will take place on Saturday, March 27th at Left Hand Brewing in Longmont, CO. There will be an awards ceremony following the judging session (at approximately 5pm).

The Pro-Am competition represents a unique opportunity for commercial breweries to pair up with homebrewers and create some truly unique beers.

Fritz & Ken's Ale at Falling Rock

Description: Falling Rock is receiving kegs in Round 1 of Sierra Nevada's 30th Anniversary Project (Fritz & Ken's Ale). Very few of these kegs made it out to Colorado, so come out and enjoy!

Celebrate one of the early pioneers of the Craft Brewing Revolution. Sierra Nevada is turning 30 this year & is Celebrating by making a series of 4 beers with some of the other pioneers of the industry.

Call For Entries: National Homebrew Competition

Description: The National Homebrew Competition (NHC) is the world's largest international beer competition recognizing the most outstanding homebrewed beer, mead, and cider produced by amateur brewers worldwide.

The First Round of the National Homebrew Competition (NHC) takes place at nine regional sites in the USA during the month of April. The best of the beer, mead, and cider entries in the regional competitions advances to the Final Round of the competition at the AHA National Homebrewers Conference. NHC winners receive gold, silver or bronze medals in 28 style categories.

Get your kettles cranked up and fill up those fermenters; the 2010 National Homebrew Competition is approaching fast! The NHC Rules and Regulations (PDF file) are now available. Here are the important dates you need to know:

Entry Deadline: Monday, March 22 - 5 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010

Online Registration: Available mid-February 2010

First Round Competitions: April 3-April 25, 2010

Final Round Entries Due: Monday, May 24 - 5 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010

Final Round Competition: Thursday, June 17, 2010

Awards Ceremony: Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Minneapolis, MN

Last year 1,310 homebrewers entered the National Homebrew Competition, and 455 brewers advanced to the Final Round competition to compete for 84 medals.

Description: The entry window for the Peak-to-Peak ProAm is open!

You can drop off your entries at several of Colorado's front range homebrew shops or ship them directly to Left Hand Brewing.

The entry deadline is Friday, March 19th.

This is an excellent opportunity to get feedback on your latest creation and get the chance to team up with a pro. We have 5 Colorado brewers lined up to select recipes to enter in the 2010 GABF ProAm.

The judging will take place on March 27th and we'll have an award ceremony that afternoon (at Left Hand Brewing in Longmont, CO). We'll post results as soon as we can and will mail out judging sheets on the following Monday.
