Pumpkinfest in Aurora

Description: Dry Dock will be serving at the Jack O' Launch at Pumpkinfest at DeLaney Farms (Chambers & Alameda) in Aurora, CO.

The City of Aurora's annual Jack-O-Launch at PumpkinFest features a pumpkin launching competition, hay rides, scarecrow making, a pumpkin patch and more. Free admission.

Wynkoop Beer Dinner

Description: October's beer dinner will highlight the Wynkoop Beers of 2009. Brewmaster Andy Brown has been stashing kegs of each specialty and seasonal beer brewed since the beginning of January. We'll be sampling six of his favorites alongside a special harvest feast prepared by Executive Sous Chef Bicklehaupt. Tickets are only $35 each. Reservations can be made by calling 303-297-9999.

Description: Oktoberfest Party and Pumpkin Beer Brew-in

Come say goodbye to Oktoberfest with a bang on October 3rd at my house. I will have 6 beers on tap(including Oktoberfest), German food, and German music throughout the day. I will also be brewing my world famous Pumpkin beer. I welcome anyone else that wants to come brew with that day. Just let me know before-hand so I can make sure there is enough space for you.

Here is the schedule:

10am Mash-in (don’t miss the bright orange mash!)

Noon Oktoberfest beers tapped

1pm German food is served – brats, German potato salad, strudel

5pm Party over – go home

Please RSVP if you will be coming so I can plan for food. Children are welcome. Also, please bring a lawn chair if you want to sit down.

2nd Annual Rails & Ales Oktoberfest

Description: Experience the return of last year's Rails & Ales Oktoberfest. Beer and bratwurst will be served in time to German Oompa Band music as our engine winds through high mountain passes.

The fun continues when you arrive at La Veta's 23rd Annual Oktoberfest for an two hour stop. Enjoy the street fair booths with music, dancers, food and beer garden.

Train departs from Alamosa at 9:00 a.m. Adults only, must be over 21 in Oktoberfest cars. Seating capacity is limited.

- Train tickets are $58 for the roundtrip ride. Food and beverages are available for an additional cost.

- $15 food and beverage pass and a special mug if purchased before September 15th

- $20 for food and beverage passes purchased after September 16th

Dr. Bill's Annual GABF Tasting

Description: Dr. Bill will take over the downstairs of the Falling Rock Tap House for his wonderful night of rare and exotic beers. He will be pouring over 100 amazing brews including Santa's Little Helper aged in Bourbon barrels, Angel's Share, Cuvee de Tomme, Duck Duck Gooze, Bottleworks 10th Anniversary Wild Ale, and much, much more. You can even bring beer that you want to share. A $20 contribution helps pay for the beers and tip the wait staff.

Denver Rare Beer Tasting

Alpha King

Description: Judging of hoppy beers will take place; but you probably won't be able to judge; but just come and hang out in the basement and you'll get to drink all the hoppy beers you can ...for free. The Alpha King Challenge was founded in 1999 as a tribute to Alpha King Pale Ale, crafted by Three Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana. Hosted by Chris Black at Falling Rock Tap House, The Alpha King Challenge has grown into the most pleasurable hophead event held in Denver during Great American Beer Festival week.

BA Gathering at Great Divide

Description: Unfortunately the Alström Bros had to cancel their Denver/GABF trip (life happens), but Great Divide Brewing Company has graciously agreed to keep the annual tradition of taking over their brewery and will be opening its doors to BeerAdvocates in town for the Great American Beer Festival!

Enjoy fresh brews in the taproom, brewery tours, and hoist some brews a mile high with fellow BAs. Starts @ 11am. No cover.

KROC 15th Annual World Brewers Forum

Great American Beer Festival

The Great American Beer Festival is the American brewing industry's top public tasting opportunity and competition. Tasting sessions will offer attendees the opportunity to tour America's brewing landscape, one ounce at a time, by sampling more than 1,800 different beers from more than 400 of the nation's finest breweries. The GABF gathers practically every type of beer from all of the regions of the country, and they are arranged geographically on the festival floor. The festival allows visitors to taste the largest number and the widest variety of hand-crafted products in the American beer industry.
