Recipe Notes: This was the beer I brewed for the Iron Brewer Competition. I also took about 2 quarts of the final runnings of the mash and set that aside. I steeped 1/2 lb of chocolate malt for 20 minutes, removed the the malt, then brought it to a boil, then steeped the Star Anise and anoteh 4 ounces of Rose petals. I then strained that mixture into 1 5-gallon fermenter to create 2 different beers.
